Quality Engineer
Works with Quality Manager to maintain the training and development of the Quality Department
Work with the Production Floor:
- ·Maintain regular/daily interface with product line manager, supervisor, operators, etc., to identify concerns and support corrective action (for customer concerns, scrap and rework).
- ·Facilitates and leads the CP Corrective action process, leads open CP’s, root cause analysis to closure
- ·Facilitates and leads the LPA, Layered Process Audit Process for the facility
- ·Facilitates and leads the PPCRN process for quality processes
- ·Facilitates quality training required in the plant as required
- ·Assists in Quality Auditing
- ·Familiar with all types of techniques related to gauging.
- ·Establish/review SPC charting for short and long term trends.
- · Assist with low (Cpk) capability, gauging, and tooling issues.
- ·Assist with MRB, PPAP, and Acceptance Standards.
- ·Perform Gage R&R Studies.
- Perform Capability Studies
- ·Perform gage calibration.
- ·Be Involved with Internal Improvements:
- Support Manufacturing
- Champion meetings.
- Lead and/or advise Improvements Teams.
- Lead and/or advise changes to the process.
- Cost reduction ideas.
- See to Customers Needs by:
- Champion meetings.
- Making Problem Resolution with the Customer, facilities, trouble shoots reports and resolves complaints.
- Assists in Completing Customer Complaint Resolution and Responses (8Ds).
- Make Goodwill Visits to the Customer.
- Authorizes customer contact reports.
- Write customer contact reports. APQP Documentation
- ·Relay changes from customers to Manufacturing.
- ·Work with management on APQP changes.
- ·Keep acceptance standards and picture books up to date.
- ·Keep APQP documentation up to date. (Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagram, etc.)
- ·Keep OCP and written instructions up to date (cell books).
- ·Keep up to date other existing documents and to develop as required new plans/documents.
- ·Manage customer changes to the product.
- ·Analyze customer return product and lead/implement corrective actions.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- ·One to two years molding or casting experience
- Climate controlled environment with majority of time spent on the production floor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate.
- Must have the ability to operate, and experience with, gages, computers, various electronics

Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
