Quality Technician - 2nd Shift

    Quality Technician 2nd Shift

     

    Position Description:

    Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting, auditing and ensuring all associates are properly following all quality procedures. This position is also responsible for controlling and monitoring quality in real time situations.        

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform 1st article and inline casting checks with CMM
    • Section, turn (using CNC lathe) and pull test bar samples for heat treat disposition and release
    • Incoming metal/chemistry inspection using spectrograph
    • Reverb and holding furnaces metal chemistry inspection
    • Dock Audit on final product
    • Inspection and recording SPC data and analysis of various processes
    • Input NCM tag information in data base/input scrap tag information into log
    • Fill out all NCM/Scrap tags properly
    • Fire heat treat document packages and maintain all logs
    • Make quality decisions based on customer specifications
    • Follow all quality procedures
    • Communicate and teach production associates on acceptable quality criteria
    • Must be able to operate the band saw and all other quality department equipment
    • Process RGA returns
    • Measure dimensions to products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges or micrometers
    • Read blueprints, data, manuals or other material to determine specifications, inspections and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas or measuring instruments required.
    • Keep work areas clean and organized
    • Notify Quality Lead Technician, production supervisor of any production problems

    Other duties as assigned by Quality Supervisor/Quality Lead Tech

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma or GED required, other technical experience a plus
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment, experience in Quality department preferred
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in English
    • Basic computer skills
