    ENGINEERING/TOOLING MANAGER

    Reports to:

    GENERAL MANAGER

     

    Job purpose

    This position will lead project teams for continual improvement. Identifies training needs & gaps and develops strategies for success. Will work closely with quality department & production operations to assure total customer on-time delivery.                                                   

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Will be the company leader for a Tier-1 TS16949/ISO14001 aluminum foundry operational processes including melting, heat treat, casting tooling, casting process, and machining. The EM assures processes & procedures are implemented to assure products meet customer requirements and are produced according to quoted parameters. The EM will develop systems to support EHS, profitability, cost, and production goals. Directs plant industrial engineering activities.
    • Other duties as assigned by Manager

                                                                                                                                                   

    Qualifications

    · Experience managing a casting operation engineering function including launch activities

    · Experience solving casting defect issues

    · Previous background & track record successfully implementing continual improvement initiatives

    · Leading root cause analysis for customer concerns and implementing corrective actions

    · Experience developing & leading APQP activities – developing process standards – control plans – gage requirements – work instructions

    · Experience with melting operations – dry hearth & wet bath

    · Experience with quench & age heat treat systems

    · Computer literate: Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Project & Outlook)
