PLC Programmer

    Reports to:

    Maintenance Manager


    Job Purpose:

    The PLC Tech Controls Engineer will administer the electric, electronic and controls systems in the plant. This will include troubleshooting, program design, process improvement, documentation organization and maintenance, service maintenance, training.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • PLC ladder logic programming, electrical control projects on new and current equipment
    • Troubleshoot, repair, program and update electrical controls
    • Panel View programming and component assembly
    • Machine installation startup and debugging
    • Create and maintain backup files
    • Knowledge of Pneumatics and Hydraulic
    • Knowledge of 480/3 phase and 24 volt control panels
    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment
    • Work with current maintenance crew in troubleshooting mechanical problems
    • Integration of robots
    • Safety oriented

    Qualifications:

    • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field with 2-5 years of experience; or 5-8 years of field experience
    • Experience with safety scanners and interlocks
    • Foundry/machining experience is preferred
    • Proficient/Working knowledge in basic computer software
    • Strong organizational skill, confidentiality, and dependability

    Working Conditions and Environment:

    Climate controlled office environment with majority of time spent on the production floor

    Wide variety of hand and power tools consistent with mechanics needs, hoists, precision gages, computers, various electronics
