Position Details

IT Technician

  • Ravenna, Ohio
  • Job responsibilities:

    • Installs, configures, updates and supports network communications equipment (servers, hub / switches, routers, firewalls, etc) on the local area network and wide area network
    • Installs, configures, updates and supports file servers and related equipment
    • Updates and maintains Help Desk system to resolve user and other IT issues
    • Works with end-users to ensure that efficient use of resources are being accomplished and IT needs are being met
    • Create, change, review, and monitor backup jobs
    • Install and maintain up to date anti-virus and anti-spam software on all computing equipment
    • Follow management information system policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance
    • Assists in developing and testing disaster recovery plan
    • Installs and updates approved software packages such as operating systems, word processing or spreadsheet programs on computers
    • Performs work according to plan
    • Monitor I.T. resources an systems to ensure they are available to meet the operational objectives of the organization; discuss any deficiencies with the I.T. Director
    • Monitor network and system for security breaches; plan and implement solutions to prevent and detect unauthorized access
    • Proper disposal of computer monitors and ink cartridges

    Skill Requirements

     

    Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

    Strong PC knowledge with an understanding of networks.

    Strong communication and customer service skills (both internal and external)

     

    Education Requirements

     

    Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    At least 5 years experience in the IT field, preferably in the automotive manufacturing environment
