Position Details

Production Scheduler

  • Rootstown, Ohio
  • Job purpose

    Responsible for all production control employees and processes that directly affect the company's ability to meet customer requirements. Support all corporate and plant activities as required.                                                   

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Manage production control activities to minimize shortages and expedited/past due shipments.

    • Recommend process improvements that will lead to improved customer service levels.

    • Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements.

    • Establish priorities for the department.

    • Create and review the production schedule with customers and production teams.

    • Monitor execution of production schedule and adjust it as needed to meet deadlines.

    • Communicate the status of production schedule to customers on a regular basis.

    • Attend daily production meetings to prioritize and plan production activities to maintain desired on-time delivery.

    • Review daily reports to identify and address equipment malfunctions, material shortages and other factory problems.

    • Help determine equipment, materials and staff needs to meet production schedule.

    • Take ownership of finished good inventory levels and manage cycle count program.

    • Perform inventory management for timely delivery and for minimizing transportation charges.

    • Other duties as assigned.             

     

                                                                                                   

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

    • Proficient/Working knowledge in basic computer software.

    • Strong organizational skill, confidentiality and dependability

     

    Skills

    • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and maintain a positive attitude with co-workers, management, customers/suppliers. 

    • Ability to effectively communicate both and writing and verbally.

       

    Working conditions and environment

    Climate controlled office environment with some of time spent on the production floor.

    MS Office Suite, Ross/Plex software, multi-functional copy machine
