Position Details

Process Engineer

  • Wapakoneta, Ohio

    Job purpose

    The Process Engineer is responsible for ensuring all processes are maintained and to find areas for improvement.                                                                                                                                               

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Determine and improve melting, casting, heat treat, and/or x-ray processes to achieve higher quality, higher yields, reduced cycle times and lower cost products                                                        

    • Serve as in house expert on castings                                                                                                                       

    • Maintain adequate documentation through Document Control (adhere to TS16949 principles      

    • Perform such other duties as may be assigned                                                                                                   

    • Train production associates on new process when applicable                                                      

    • Interact with new product design to ensure a manufactural new product                               

    • Work with tool design toward lower maintenance dies and better part quality                                    

    • Maintain technical exposure to developing trends in our industry                                                              

    • Other duties as assigned                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required or equivalent technical experience.

    • Excellent understanding of use of computers; excellent problem solving skills including pareto, data analysis, fishbone diagrams, etc.;

    • Good communication skills both verbal and written;

    • Good time management and prioritization skills.

    • Preferred: 3 plus years in related position.

    • Experience in an automotive or OEM supplier operation experience in an employee involvement / participation work environment.

    Working conditions and environment

    Climate controlled office environment with majority of time spent on the production floor.

    Normal equipment used

    Wide variety of hand and power tools consistent with mechanics needs, hoists, precision gages, computers, various electronics
