Position Details

Machining Manager/Programmer

  • Rootstown, Ohio
  • Job purpose

    Develop CNC programs and monitor current processes for continuous improvement. Manage the machining department employees and monitor scheduling of customer orders for timely delivery. Monitor the PM and maintenance of the machining department and meet with vendors on tooling requirements.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Write programs for CNC Machines

    • Help with vendor selection of machining equipment, fixtures, perishable tooling, gauges and other equipment as necessary to be able to produce acceptable product to print or model.

    • Monitor production of product to meet customer expectations and quoted cycle times.

    • Use continuous improvement to enhance cycle times, production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.

    • Coordinate production schedule and provide direction to workers for completion of job assignments and assure timelines are attained.

    • Support the training of new operators and suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve their goals.

    • Responsible for ensuring that associates have the right tool to perform their job.

    • Supervise and communicate with associates regarding job performance, expectations, attendance, breaks, discipline, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    • Approves and verifies accuracy of employee work hours and furnishes complete/correct production records.

    • All other duties as deemed necessary by the Operations Manager.

     

    Qualifications

    • Associates degree or related prior experience.

    • Must have 2 – 4 years of supervisory experience.

    • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

    • Must have 2 – 4 years CNC programming experience.

     

    Working conditions and environment

    Machining environment where noise may exceed 85db and exposure to extreme heat.
