Position Details

Corporate HR Generalist

  • Ravenna, Ohio
  • The Corporate HR Generalist provides support on day-to-day basis and contributes to the development of the HR function.  Supports HR Director in providing a comprehensive HR service to managers and staff within the organization.  Perform a variety of duties involving questions and inquiries in person and over the telephone.  Aware of consequences to customer, environment and the employee if policies and procedures are not followed.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Assists in interviewing, hiring and orienting new employees
    • All onboarding duties including: orientation, pre-hire paperwork and drug screen scheduling.
    • Responsible for payroll for the salaried workforce.

    • Ensure background and drug screen checks are complete in a timely effective manner.
    • Performs benefits administration. Maintains records, reports, and logs for submission to PKOH

    • Counseling applicants and employees on Handbook policies and procedures, benefits, procedures and job opportunities.
    • Compile and report out weekly HR metrics, including plant headcount, direct/indirect, employee shortages, turnover/absenteeism and training.
    • Assists in performance review process.
    • Advising staff regarding personnel, benefits, and pay issues.
    • Assisting management and supervising human resource issues; investigating human resource related problems and making recommendations to the organization as directed by HR Director
    • Create and maintain current and employment files in accordance with legal requirements.

    • Maintain, log and file training documents.

    • Assists in organization and management of tactical promotional activities for employees to include lunches, wellness initiatives, special events, and similar gatherings.

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Exposure to and experience in manufacturing environment

    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite software, as well as various payroll and time/attendance systems

    • Works well independently; takes responsibility

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field from an accredited institution (preferred)

    • HR Certification (preferred)

    • Strong HR generalist knowledge (preferred)
