Position Details

Machining Process Engineer

  • Wapakoneta, Ohio
  • The machining engineer provides support for the entire machining area regardless of product line, supporting the machining centers, assembly presses, set up, troubleshooting, Gage calibration and routine preventative maintenance and training. This position will provide technical support and training. Must be available, as needed, for troubleshooting & support on off shifts. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

    • Blueprint reading skills & strong understanding of GD & T
    • Gage & measurement experience
    • Experience programming, fixture knowledge & experience, knowledge & experience working with Fanuc controllers (ability / working knowledge of CNC program language)
    • Experience & strong knowledge with Makino CNC’s
    • Math skills including Geometry, Trigonometry, & basic mechanical skills are required
    • Develop, evaluate & improve machining methods, manage the tool life management system & maintain tool sharpening program & tool recycle program.
    • Lead the efforts to bring total preventative maintenance to the machining area
    • Ability to ensure all required PM’s are completed and paperwork is filled out appropriately.
    • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, & computer), ability to work with suppliers as needed in addition to collaborating with management, engineering, & other staff regarding machining capabilities.
    • Availability to support off-shifts as needed & assist with training needs as they occur and relate to Machining.

    Associates degree in Engineering Preferred but will consider candidates with 5 + years of experience
